Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Roavia collects, why, and what rights you have over it. It covers the Roavia website (roavia.co) and the Roavia app.
This page is provided in English. If any translated version of our site links here, the English text is the operative version.
1. Who we are
Roavia (“we”, “us”) provides road-trip and motorhome planning tools. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@roavia.co.
2. What we collect
On this website, if you subscribe to updates we collect the email address you provide, plus the site language and the page you subscribed from. That's it — the site uses no advertising or tracking cookies.
In the app, to run your account and plan your trips we collect your name and email, the trips, stops, notes and expenses you create, and — only while you are actively navigating — your precise location, which is used to give directions and is not stored as a location history.
3. How we use your data
- To send you the updates you subscribed to, until you unsubscribe.
- To create and run your account and provide the planning and navigation features.
- To calculate routes, tolls and crossings, and to power AI suggestions.
- To keep the service secure and working, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-site tracking.
4. Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR)
- Consent — for marketing emails. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Contract — to provide the account and features you sign up for.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure and improve it.
5. Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — database and authentication (subscriber list, accounts, trips).
- IONOS — website hosting.
- Google — web fonts, and Maps within the app.
- HERE — routing, tolls and navigation within the app.
- Anthropic — AI trip suggestions (your prompt is processed to generate a reply).
- Stripe — payment processing for Roavia Plus (handled on the web; we do not store card details).
6. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
We keep subscriber emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Account and trip data is kept while your account is active; you can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete Account), which permanently removes it and its data.
8. Your rights
Under UK/EU GDPR you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, a copy (portability), restriction, or object to certain processing — and withdraw consent for marketing at any time (every email includes an unsubscribe link). To exercise any of these, email privacy@roavia.co. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
9. Cookies
This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The app uses only the cookies/local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your settings.
10. Children
Roavia is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above shows when. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
